Originally from PA, I moved to Durham 11 years ago looking for a job as an art teacher. While applying to schools, I got a job at a local bakery where my love of baking and cake decorating was revealed. Since then, I have been baking and decorating cakes for the past 11 years all around the Triangle. I’ve decorated over 500 wedding cakes to date and have loved every minute of it. 

My favorite designs are the ones that have intricate piping or handpainting, making the cakes seem like a small work of art. Designing wedding cakes is another favorite part of my job and I love when brides want to start with a blank canvas, creating a cake design specific to their personalities and wedding theme.

Working with buttercream is my preferred style but I also enjoy fondant cakes and the different decorating techniques that fondant allows. Marbled fondant cakes are my current favorite wedding trend!
